What is Kola?

 

Kola originates from Africa and is a unique fruit that is used all over the world in order to show gratitude, uplift, and fortify any occasion. 

This caffeine containing nut grows from the Cola evergreen tree. This specific species of tree, the cola acuminata is 20 meters tall and possesses long leaves that point at both ends with the texture similar to leather. The trees blossom yellow flowers with purple spots and contain fruit shaped like stars. Within the fruit lie round or square seeds that have a white seed shell. This nut has a sweet smell. Kola is a nut that tastes bitter and can be boiled in order to extract the caffeine.
